    Château Le Chêne

Domaines Fabre contains of 92 hectares of vineyards spread across three properties; Château Lamothe, Château Landat and Domaine de La Tonnelle, all under the appellation of AOP Haut-Médoc. Vincent took over from his father, Gabriel, and now manages the viticulture and production with his wife, Florence.

  • Jean-Michel Deluc says

    Complex & flattering

In 1982, Domaine Fabres acquired this wonderful 29 hectare property, complete with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and some old vines of Petit Verdot. I was immediately seduced by this wine from the 2014 vintage, complex, flattering and very attractive in a rather classical style. The beauty of this vintage is that whilst it is very accessible right now, it can also be stored and evolve over the coming years. Thanks to the attention of the wonderful team of Domaine Fabres, we're delighted to also offer the stunning Chateau Margaux Carreyre; a wine for lovers of Bordeaux, without a doubt!

    • Eye : The wine has a youthful, bright ruby colour with a slight hint of evolution on the rim.
    • Nose : On the nose there is some evolution of aromas leading to wonderful complexity; red fruits, black fruits, spices, cocoa, tobacco and toast.
    • Mouth : On the palate the wine is round, fruity and complex. The structure is still young with crisp tannins and a very good ageing potential.
