    Abbaye de Fonfroide

Languedoc-Roussillon is touched by grace: this Benedictine and then Cistercian abbey was first built in 1093 and has reinvented itself over the years, without ever abandoning its true purpose. The monks work the vines themselves and the reputation has evolved over the centuries due to the diligence and hard work of these men. The ancient cellars of the abbey have been rennovated and the estate is now able to receive visitors, who will be able to see the vineyards stretching out from around the abbey itself. The success of the estate today is a tribute to the tireless efforts of Nicolas de Chevron Villette, responsible for the health and quality of the vineyards and eternal champion of the Narbonne region. Cheers to you, Nicolas!

  • Jean-Michel Deluc says

It's with great pride and a little sadness that I present the cuvée 'Deo Gratias' of my late friend Nicolas de Chevron Villette. He was responsible for turning the vineyards of the abbey into a place where the must-taste white wines of Corbières are created. When you taste the wine, look out for the superb honey and fruit flavours, with a streak of minerality that speaks of this wonderful terroir. Thank you, Nicolas, for this superb white wine and your tireless work over the years.
