  • The estate

    Château de Santenay

Chateau de Santenay is composed of 98 hectares across a multitude of climates and soil types, all maintained using sustainable methods and expertly supervised; it's not hard to see the potential, here! The estate was even once owned by royalty, Philippe le Hardi was a Prince of France afterall, and whilst the estate has since been modernised, the class of the wines has never deviated. A glimpse into the past, through a wonderfully crafted bottle of wine!

  • Jean-Michel Deluc says

Philippe le Hardi, the former owner of this prestigious estate, would have been delighted with this vintage of Mercurey. Today, 98 hectares of prime vineyards are the pride of the village, and this 2014 bottling showcases the hard and meticulous work that goes into it all year-round. There's the tender fruity related to the general Mercurey style, but also the character and minerality of the vineyards themselves. Complex and elegant; this is my kind of Burgundy!
