Top value for money in Bordeaux!

  • The estate

    Château Suau

Suau is a beautiful, single estate property sat on the very heights of the Côtes-de-Bordeaux, over-looking the Garonne (Suau literally means "near the water"). Franck Noguiez and his enthusiastic team lead the way, farming the 70 hectares under organic principles with the utmost respect for the land.

  • Jean-Michel Deluc says

For me, Suau always invokes pleasant memories. Sipping a glass is like getting inside a Rolls Royce; luxurious! Recently I had the opportunity to try the dry version for the first time and you know what? I loved it just as much. It's well known in the industry that the Premières-Côtes-de-Bordeaux, on the right bank of the Garonne, is probably the best value-for-money appellation in Bordeaux today. Therefore this delicious, fruity and fresh wine doesn't come as a huge surprise but a welcome partner for our aperitifs all the same! Is there a wine that will pair with goats cheese quite so effortlessly?

  • Tasting

    • Ideal for : Aperitif, Family lunch
    • Eye : The wine has a pale gold colour with green reflections and a beautiful sheen suggesting freshness and youth.
    • Nose : On the nose, aromas of Sauvignon Blanc dominate; white fruits, citrus, white mint, white flowers and gooseberries.
    • Mouth : The palate has a similar flavour profile with fresh citrus and white fruits. The acidity is refreshing but soft and the contrast between the citrus zest and the soft, herbal influences is lovely indeed!
