  • The estate

    Maison Barfontarc

In 1692, 50 vignerons from the villages of Baroville, Fontaine and Arconville joined forces to create the 'La Coopérative Vinicole de la Région de Baroville'. Today, the same families work together, cultivating the vines of the Côte des Bar to develop Champagne of style and class.

  • Jean-Michel Deluc says

This estate was created by several vignerons in 1962 with a modern, qualitative vision of Champagne in mind. I particularly love their Blanc de Noirs Champagne; fresh, elegant yet with a roundness to the flavour profile. This is the sort of Champagne I could serve with aperitifs or even throughout the entire dinner! The aromas and flavours are both charming and complex whilst the extended ageing process in the cellar has given a wonderful texture, full of small, soft bubbles. I adore this sort of wine, bravo!

    • Eye : The wine has a concentrated golden colour with silver reflections and fine, creamy bubbles. It's the sort of Champage that appears both fresh and concentrated at the same time!
    • Nose : The nose is both delicate and fruity, with aromas of peach, pear, brioche, white pepper and honeysuckle. With a little aeration, notes of citrus fruits start to appear as well.
    • Mouth : What a charming wine! Honeyed flavours of fruit and delicate floral notes, all the time supported by the creamy texture of the bubbles. Delicious!
