    La Manufacture

Benjamin Laroche is from the Chablis region; his family have been working this land since 1663 and founded an estate which has been hailed as one of the darlings of the appellation since 1850. A vineyard worker as a young man, he later worked as a sales executive for several estates, giving him the chance to travel all over France learning about the needs and expectations of the most demanding wine lovers.

  • Jean-Michel Deluc says

This certainly isn't the first time I've highlighted the excellent work of Benjamin Laroche and La Manufacture. Whilst the mainstay of his work is based in Chablis, he also creates wines using grapes from the Mâconnais and Chalonnais. It was a wine from Viré-Clessé that really caught my attention recently, deep in the heart of the Macon, with the same purity of fruit and frank minerality that La Manufacture have made their signature style. Bursting with flavour and freshness; a wine to enjoy to the fullest in its youth!

  • Tasting

    • Eye : The wine has a brilliant golden colour with bright silver highlights. Crystal-clear and a real suggestion of freshness and vibrancy
    • Nose : On the nose the aromas leap out of the glass. Ripe white fruits, citrus and butter are classic notes of well made Chardonnay, with a chalky minerality underpinning it all.
    • Mouth : Fresh and lively on the palate, with bright fruit flavours and a strong backbone of acidity. Balanced, vibrant and so moreish!
