I've known the Poudou family for a very long time and I've been a fan of their wines since I first began my career as a sommelier. The incredible charm of this estate is that they somehow manage to bottle their family story, the landscape of the Minervois and their ultimate respect for nature, being amongst the first organic producers in the region. The wine-making is equally ambitious, trying to retain as much of the fruit as possible whilst showcasing all this beautiful terroir and the result is frank, charming and full of character. Their family history lives in every bottle; I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
Yes, we know that in May we normally focus on new discoveries, but instead we’ve decided to really dig into the beautiful art of organic viticulture. The reason? Organic is clearly no longer a short-term trend but a movement that’s going to go the distance, improving our appreciation of food and wine along the way. Artifice doesn’t always translate into taste and so many of the worlds famous wines are organically produced, but as we say, the proof is in the pudding!
