Maison Mathias - Chablis 1er cru Côte de Jouan 2015
AOP Chablis Premier Cru
This wine was a fun discovery for me. First of all, Côte de Jouan is a famous stretch of vineyards in the commune of Courgis, on the left bank of the river Serein which crosses both Chablisien and Domaine Alain Mathias. The depth of their wines grown on the same mythical soil of Chablis is exemplary. A balanced vinification split, with 70% of the grapes vinified in steel and 30% in barrel offers a wonderful balance between freshness and softness, minerality and complexity. Delicious!
Pó de Poeira 2015 organic
The best grapes from the Douro Valley have historically been used to make Port wine but nowadays, there is an increasing trend of still wine production which is redefining this great, historical region. Po de Poeira, for example, comes from young vines on the steep slopes of the Douro valley. The grapes are of the highest quality and the result is worthy of the great "Poeira" cuvées, with a lighter and altogether more charming character. A beautiful discovery that we're delighted to share with you!
