September 2017

Our Master Sommelier Jean-Michel Deluc, former Sommelier of the Ritz, has selected you a unique combination this month.

Château Suau - Bordeaux Blanc 2016 organic

AOP Bordeaux Blanc

For me, Suau always invokes pleasant memories. Sipping a glass is like getting inside a Rolls Royce; luxurious! Recently I had the opportunity to try the dry version for the first time and you know what? I loved it just as much. It's well known in the industry that the Premières-Côtes-de-Bordeaux, on the right bank of the Garonne, is probably the best value-for-money appellation in Bordeaux today. Therefore this delicious, fruity and fresh wine doesn't come as a huge surprise but a welcome partner for our aperitifs all the same! Is there a wine that will pair with goats cheese quite so effortlessly?

Domaine Grand Nicolet - Rasteau 2015

AOP Rasteau

Whilst Rasteau is famous for sweet red wine, there's a lot of classic dry red made here as well. The terroir is identical and even the same grapes are used! The result is a powerful, characterful red wine that's fruity, floral and a little spicy on the finish. The class of this wine shines through and it's an ideal pairing for rich foods based on red meats and game.

The Gazette

To round off a fantastic summer, come join us for another trip into the vineyards!

Grab your backpack, a corkscrew and you’re good to go! We’re inviting you to come and say hello to our favourite producers and also to discover new wines, because really, that’s what it’s all about. It took no time for us to grab a van, a couple of willing colleagues and we were en route to the Rhone Valley.
