An expert's opinion

It's back again! The 2008 was a wonderful wine and the 2010 may even be better. A special bottling; this delicious Rioja not only offers the complexity of its age but the strong core of fruit from the old vine Tempranillo. Ageing for more than 20 months in oak gives it the 'Reserva' classification and a layer of spice and power lesser wines simply can't balance. An accomplished wine, where notes of ripe fruits combine with the complexity of an aged wine and come together in perfect harmony

Jean-Michel Deluc. Head Sommelier of Petit Ballon.

Bodegas Santalba (Espagne)

Our taste buds are heading in the direction of Spain with this bottle! "Santalba" is a fusion of both the region and the founder of the bodega, Santiago Ijalba. Located in the small village of Gimileo in the heart of Rioja, Santalba is known for the production of some of the greatest wines in Rioja. Combining traditional methods with a perfect knowledge of their terroir to showcase the indigenous varieties of Rioja at their best..
