An expert's opinion

This is the second wine of Chateau Couhins, a Cru Classe estate deep in Pessac-Leognan. Just like their Grand Vin, this has received the utmost attention to detail, resulting in a delicately scented and fruity wine where Sauvignon Blanc really takes the lead role. As the owner is inextricably linked with the National Institute of Agronomic Research, it comes as no surprise to see his vineyards in immaculate order, with the results clear to taste in the wine!

The estate

Château Couhins

Here we have a survivor! If the INRA (National Institute for Agronomic Research) had not bought this vineyard in 1968, this Grand Cru Classé would have simply disappeared! At the gates of Bordeaux, the vineyard is today at the forefront of innovation in terms of environmental research, thanks to its owner of course!
