An expert's opinion

A Saint-Estèphe ideally placed on a ridge of gravel 1 km from the estuary of the Gironde. The Château de Pez, one of the oldest in Bordeaux, is reborn with the arrival of Champagne Roederer in 1995. It is this 2011 vintage, recognized as being a difficult year, that we propose it to you. The style of the vintage showcases the wine's greatness. It's matured with complexity, velvety and character. You'll get all the pleasure of tasting a Cru Bourgeois.

Jean-Michel Deluc. Head Sommelier of Petit Ballon.
The estate

Château de Pez

The Château de Pez was born to shine. it is one of the oldest castles within the St Estèphe appellation and has many owners including the Pontac Family, who are also owners of the glorious Château Haut-Brion. It was purchased in 1995 by the House Louis Roederer; an event that signalled the rebirth of the Château.
