An expert's opinion

Here is a favourite that I discovered during a tasting at the estate. A "colourful" wine with a strong character. Jean Pierre Gaussen is what I call a hard worker, an idealist who makes the unconventional Bandols accompanied by his two daughters, Mireille and Magali. It is however on a country wine that my choice is made. Made in vats, this wine impressed me with its density, finesse and complexity. An original blend, you will notice the sun and the soil from one of my favourite Provencal villages, La Cadière d'Azur.

The estate

Château Jean-Pierre Gaussen

Jean-Pierre Gaussen and his wife Julia created the vineyard in the 1960's. At the beginning, it was only one hectare but through hard work and conviction, the vineyard is now 12 hectares. Together with his daughters, to whom he has transmitted his love for wine, he takes care of his vines. The underground cellar is carved into the rock and allows for a perfect vinification of wines which is truly felt in the tasting!
