An expert's opinion

For a long time, the grapes of the Côtes-du-Brulhois have gone into AOP Brulhois to be made into wine with a more defined style. The wines made here are often based on Merlot for richness, Cabernet Franc for freshness and Tannat for structure and power. What's remarkable is the complexity and balance of the wine, combining fruit and spice with finesse and a structure to help the wine age. A true Gascon, in both charm and character!

The estate

Château Labastide

Château Labastide is the only area of the Brulhois appellation located on the right bank of the Garonne, which is how it comes to share the famous clay soils of Pomerol. Cabernet Franc, Tannat and Cabernet Sauvignon all flourish here, reaching full maturity and producing wines of remarkable longevity!
