An expert's opinion

It's time for a new vintage of this delicious wine, discovered quite recently despite its historic name and reputation! Catherine and Isabelle, sisters and descendants of the Orliac family, tirelessly work their terroir, which has more than a passing resemblance to the great vineyards of Pomerol. They produce bold, rounded wines with soft tannins, full of Gascon pride and character.

Jean-Michel Deluc. Head Sommelier of Petit Ballon.
The estate

Château Labastide

Château Labastide is the only area of the Brulhois appellation located on the right bank of the Garonne, which is how it comes to share the famous clay soils of Pomerol. Cabernet Franc, Tannat and Cabernet Sauvignon all flourish here, reaching full maturity and producing wines of remarkable longevity!
