An expert's opinion

This is a region I've been interested in since I first became a sommelier. The wine we've chosen is representative of the work done here at Château Val with Syrah and Grenache combining beautifully together. You'll appreciate the complexity and purity of fruit above all else, slightly matured thanks to the sun-kissed climate of its origin. A classy, generous and still fresh wine with lots of depth.

The estate

Château Val Joanis

"We must cultivate our garden," said Voltaire. The owners of Château Val Joanis took this to heart, building within the domain of the gardens in the taste of the eighteenth century. The vegetable garden, rose garden and plane trees of Greece are right next to the vineyards. It's so beautiful, that the gardens of the estate have been classified "remarkable garden" by the Ministry of Culture. The vine is also treated with the same care, located on the hillsides and ridges close to the Château, producing grapes of impeccable maturity and balance.
