An expert's opinion

Here's a wine from an appellation that often flies beneath the radar, wedged in as it is between the powerful Pommard and the elegant Savigny-les-Beaune. Finessed, subtle and yet with hidden depths, this delicious wine hails from the Atlelier range of Benjamin Laroche. A delicious expression of Pinot Noir and another gem from Burgundy!

Jean-Michel Deluc. Head Sommelier of Petit Ballon.
The estate

L'Atelier

Benjamin Laroche is from the Chablis region; his family have been working this land since 1663 and founded an estate in 1850. Working in the vineyards in his youth and later as a sales exective, he's travelled all over France, learning the trade and picking up snippets of information, all of which now go into improving his delicious wines!
