An expert's opinion

I discovered this Cuvée 2011 three years ago at a Vinexpo. I was blown away by the quality of this rare and original wine, even more so because it comes from my native Gers. I tasted it again in 2012 and again more recently, and was once more charmed by this extraordinary wine which veers between a very great Madiran with a Gascon character, and the aristocratic nature of truly great Bordeaux wines. This Saint-Mont reminds our palates of the history of a region rich in events, personalities, accents and unique characters. Between the rapier and jazz music, Plaimont confirms its status as a great cellar with this wine. Grapes:Tannat, pinenc, cabernet Sauvignon.

The estate

Plaimont Terroirs et Châteaux

The passion for wine-making of the Benedictine monks from the Monastery of Saint-Mont has been transmitted down the generations. For many years, the wines were destined for the distillation and production of armagnac, until the arrival of André Dubosc, the grower who awoke the the Saint-Mont appellation from its slumbers. 1979 was the year when the three cellars of Plaisance, Aignan and Saint-Mont in the Gers joined forces.
