An expert's opinion

The best grapes from the Douro Valley have historically been used to make Port wine but nowadays, there is an increasing trend of still wine production which is redefining this great, historical region. Po de Poeira, for example, comes from young vines on the steep slopes of the Douro valley. The grapes are of the highest quality and the result is worthy of the great "Poeira" cuvées, with a lighter and altogether more charming character. A beautiful discovery that we're delighted to share with you!

The estate

Quinta do Poeira

This estate is part of one of the most beautiful vineyard areas of the world, the terraced slopes of the Douro Valley. The oenologist, Jorge Moreira, tames the famously high temperatures of the region by planting on north facing slopes to mitigate the heat, and the result is a fresher, more vibrant style of wine. Innovation in one of the most important and historical wine regions in the world!
