An expert's opinion

It's always a pleasure to present a great champagne!

The Mumm brand has been in my good books for years. I have great memories of the Cramant and the Cuvée René Lalou. However, I have to say that I hadn't come across this Cuvée Sélection. It was Georges Hermann Mumm, the founder of the champagne house, who finally had the idea of bringing together the best terroirs from the region in a blend that combines Pinot Noir from Verzenay, Bouzy, Ay, with Chardonnay from Avize and Cramant. This goes to show the complexity of the aromas and flavours of this blend which will be the star of your festive season. Grapes: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay

The estate

Maison G.H.MUMM

The Von Mumm family have German roots, coming from German nobility in the Middle Ages. In 1761, Peter Arnold Mumm launched into the production and sale of wine in Cologne. He passed on this passion to his son, who in turn become a pioneer of the emerging champagne industry. In 1852, Georges Hermann Mumm, took the helm at G.H.MUMM and Cie. This unique and generous land has a strict policy of excellence to ensure everything it makes is of the utmost highest possible quality.
