An expert's opinion

We're proud to present the famous Chateau Clos du Loup; legendary wines created as a result of history meeting modern wine-making and ambition. It's exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for in Bordeaux: tenderness and softness, fruit and freshness yet with enough structure to age gracefully. In short, a wine that has charm and character, which is to be found here in spades!

Jean-Michel Deluc. Head Sommelier of Petit Ballon.
The estate

Vignobles Bouillac

When Jean-Pierre took over the family estate 20 years ago, he wanted to expand it to produce diversified wines of high quality. The Bouillac family are not just a producers of wines, they have also nutured a winemaking nursery for several generations. Clearly, they understand and feel the vines perfectly, from the roots to the grapes. The proof is in the wine.

  • Eye The wine has a bright, ruby colour with bright purple reflections towards the rim. It looks velvety and rich, with just a hint of evolution.

  • Nose Beautiful complexity on the nose, with balanced aromas of ripe black fruits, toasted oak, baking spices and chocolate. Harmonious and complete.
